Martin Armstrong – President
Martin Armstrong is the President and a principal owner of Armstrong & Associates Insurance Services. Martin began his career in the insurance industry in 1983 offering Crop Insurance to local farmers in Yolo County, California. Seeing his clients’ need for a full-service agent, Martin expanded into Property & Casualty insurance products. In 1992, Martin joined the George Petersen Insurance Agency as a partner to provide his clients with back office support and additional insurance options. In 2004 Martin along with three partners purchased the Sacramento and Woodland offices of George Petersen and launched Armstrong & Associates Insurance Services. Martin and his partners built Armstrong & Associates from an original staff of nine to 75 employees (and growing) serving over 500 businesses and thousands of individual clients throughout the state of California and around the country.
Over the years Martin added Personal Lines and Employee Benefits services to bring a complete “One Point of Service” solution to Armstrong’s ever growing client-base. Armstrong & Associates was one of the first and only agencies in California to offer clients free value added services like Safety Meetings, Claims Mitigation, Mapping, and Employee Benefits Administration. These services along with Martin’s employee friendly and client-first attitude have made Armstrong one of the fastest growing commercial insurance agencies in Northern California.
Martin has coached both soccer and hockey in his community and as an avid Sacramento King’s fan. Outside the office Martin is very involved with his family and their 600 acre almond and olive ranch and vineyard event center in the Capay Valley. Martin lives in Davis with his wife where they enjoy being grandparents to their nine grandchildren.

Matthew Carvalho is a commercial insurance agent with Armstrong and Associates with a strong background in agribusiness. Matthew was raised in a farming community on the west side of Fresno County where both his mother’s and father’s families have farms. Matthew worked in the fields on his father’s farm until the age of 18 when he acquired a job as a field scout for a local Pest Control Advisor. Matthew attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he graduated with a crop science degree and a minor in viticulture. In college Matthew earned a position at Tolosa Winery, where he managed general operations from 1998-2012. Since acquiring his License to sell insurance in March of 2011 Matthew has been training for an Agriculture and Farm Specialist designation. Matthew’s knowledge of all aspects of agriculture from farming to processing gives him the ability to help farmers on numerous levels. Matthew is dedicated and ready to provide the service and risk management agribusiness needs.
Anthony Coelho III
Anthony Coelho brings a wealth of agribusiness experience to Armstrong & Associates. Holding a degree from California State University, Fresno in Plant Science and Production Management, Anthony has a keen insight into the unique risks and issues that growers face. Anthony is also a member of an elite group of insurance professionals, holding Armstrong and Associates Insurance Services only AFIS (Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist) professional designation. Anthony’s dedication to professional development ensures that he is considered to be upon the most knowledgeable and technically trained agents in the industry. This means Anthony is better positioned in the industry to serve Ag/Farm clients needs. Anthony and Armstrong and Associates Insurance Services are also members of the CCGA (California Cotton Ginners Association) and the Ag Lenders Society. Anthony has spent the past few years out of college working closely with growers in the Fresno area. Over the years he has helped many farmers and agribusiness owners maximize their profits by providing irrigation advice, recommending ag-chemicals, and identifying pests and related crop injuries. He looks forward to further developing his relationships by providing sound risk management advice.
Glen Dailey is a Commercial Insurance Agent with Armstrong & Associates. He has been a member of the Armstrong and Associates team since 2005. His focus includes retail, construction, and manufacturing sectors. Glen is the program manager for both the California Automotive Wholesale Association (CAWA) and the Automotive Service Council of California (ASCCA) – specialized insurance programs for the automotive retail industry. Glen applies his extensive knowledge of the insurance industry to build the appropriate insurance package at a competitive price for all of his clients.
Glen received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Chico and his Masters of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. A member of Rotary of Roseville, Glen is active in his community. He loves spending time with his wife and sons and often the four of them can be found off on a new adventure.
Joey Marquez is a Commercial Insurance Agent with Armstrong & Associates concentrating on agribusiness insurance. Joey has been in the insurance industry since 1991 and focuses on workers’ compensation, health, crop and commercial insurance products that meet the needs of his clients. Joey attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo where he studied Ag Business Management. Prior to joining Armstrong & Associates, Joey worked in the agriculture industry. His first job was with a hoeing crew in the tomato fields around Woodland. He then worked as a tomato cannery field man for five years. In 1988, Joey began buying grain for a local grain company. Joey is a member of the Yolo County Farm Bureau, Woodland Chamber of Commerce and is an active Board member for the Pioneer High School Booster Club. Joey loves to cook for his family and friends and relax with his favorite entertainer, Jimmy Buffett. Joey also loves sports. He coaches youth baseball, basketball and high school football. Joey was born and raised in Woodland, where he lives with his wife, Kerry and their two children, Andrew and Maddy. Joey and Kerry enjoy following their children’s different sporting events and vacationing at the coast. Customer service is Joey’s top priority. Joey helped implement the bilingual safety program for clients of Armstrong & Associates. Joey was also instrumental in developing the agency’s library of safety videos and safety materials offered as an added service for clients. Joey is part of the agribusiness team who offer a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise in serving the needs of the agency’s clients.
Greg Menna is a Commercial Insurance Agent with Armstrong & Associates with extensive project management experience in environmental engineering and compliance, agriculture and municipal utilities. Greg has experience in litigation support, and large-scale construction management. Growing up in Northern California, Greg has been fortunate to get involved with family trucking and agricultural enterprises. Additionally, Greg has managed corporate health and safety programs, including auditing and staff training for compliance with key OSHA risk indicators. He has received U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Construction Quality Management training, fall protection, trenching and excavation, and OSHA 40 Hour (HAZWOPER) training. Greg and Armstrong and Associates Insurance Services are also members of the Professional Environmental Marketing Association (PEMA). Greg holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, has attended numerous courses through the University of California, Davis extension.
Outside of his professional life, Greg enjoys time with his family traveling to the Sierras or the central coast. Greg and his wife are life-long athletic competitors and very involved with local youth and adult fitness programs.
Craig Penrose is a licensed Property & Casualty/Life & Health Insurance Agent with Armstrong & Associates. Craig specializes in workers’ compensation, general liability and commercial insurance coverages for the contracting industry. Craig works primarily with plumbers, painters, electricians and HVAC companies. Prior to joining Armstrong & Associates, Craig played professional football for eight years with the Denver Broncos, the New York Jets and the Denver Gold as a quarterback. Following his football career, Craig spent 12 years with FedEx. He joined the insurance industry with Pan American Underwriters as a Property & Casualty/ Life & Health agent. Craig’s many athletic accomplishments include being named First Team All-American, MVP of the Senior Bowl, Blue-Gray Game and East-West Shrine Game, and 1976 NCAA Passing Leader. He was inducted into the Woodland Sports Hall of Fame in 1989, and is also in the Hall of Champions in San Diego’s Balboa Park. Craig is an active fundraiser and advocate for youth sports. He works with Special Olympics, United Way, and ran the Instant O Football Camp in Granite Bay for 4 years. He has been married his wife Karen for over 30 years and has two beautiful children, Sarah and Kevin. He enjoys all sports, especially horse racing and golf. Craig takes pride in understanding the needs of his clients and providing insurance coverage that will protect them. You can expect your dealings with Craig to be personable and professional. He sees his role as a partner and team player, protecting the interests of his clients.
Lydia Bruno is one of the Personal Lines and Life Insurance Agents with Armstrong & Associates. Lydia has been in the insurance industry since 1985 and focuses on coverage for homes and rental properties, autos, recreational vehicles, personal umbrella and Life Insurance.
She is a Certified Insurance Service Representative and is committed to continuing education in insurance. Prior to joining Armstrong & Associates, Lydia began her insurance career with Sequoia Insurance Company as a Claims Processor. After 7 ½ years with Sequoia, she moved to the agency side of the insurance industry as a personal lines insurance agent. Lydia was born and raised in Woodland, where she now lives with her husband and son.
Lydia’s primary goal at Armstrong & Associates is to service the clients. She believes in making the client feel comfortable and confident that their needs will get taken care in a timely fashion. Lydia likes to spoil her clients by staying on top of their requests, keeping them informed and getting the job done “right.” Her clients know that she goes the extra mile with a smile. Neil Zane is a Commercial Insurance Agent with Armstrong & Associates. Neil’s focus is the farm industry. He provides Crop Insurance, Farm Packages and Workers’ Compensation insurance services.
Prior to joining Armstrong & Associates, Neil worked for over 25 years in local farming operations. In 1980 he entered the insurance industry as a claims adjuster. In 1995 Neil joined Armstrong & Associates combining his knowledge and experience in the farm industry with that in the insurance industry. Neil is a Vietnam Veteran. Neil enjoys spending his personal time with his family and woodworking, hiking and biking.
Neil is committed to providing his clients the best insurance options available. Having lived and worked in the farm industry for many years, Neil knows the needs of the farmer and he also knows insurance. He believes in doing the best job for his clients. Neil cares about his clients and is there when they need him.
Rosa Greenhalgh is a Safety Consultant for Armstrong & Associates. Rosa’s focus is loss control and safety and health for the employer. She specializes in Cal/OSHA compliance, workers’ compensation rules and regulations and safety training requirements.
Prior to joining Armstrong & Associates, Rosa was a Safety and Health Specialist for a winery and vineyard. She implemented safety and health programs for facilities in California and Washington and managed the company’s workers’ compensation claims.
Rosa plays clarinet in her church orchestra and is a member of the Capitol Pops Concert Band. Rosa and her husband are active members of the parent teacher organization for their daughter’s school.
Rosa’s primary goal in serving the clients of Armstrong & Associates is to provide cost effective solutions to safety issues while helping the client remain competitive in the marketplace. She helps clients create safety programs that comply with regulations and provides written materials that are customized to meet client needs.
Paula Lewis began her career at Armstrong & Associates in Personal Lines in 2007 where she quickly learned Personal Lines coverages while working closely with our homeowner and auto insureds. Paula was promoted to the Commercial Claims Dept as a Claims Analyst in 2011 and was promoted to Lead Claims Liaison in 2012. Paula excels at being an advocate for our clients and their employees during treatment so that they may quickly return-to-work. Paula has extensive knowledge in Experience Modification calculations and is a main resource of ex-mod issues and questions for the agency and clients.
Prior to her career at Armstrong & Associates, Paula was a Special Services Supervisor with Home Depot for 6 years as well as spending 3 years as an Operations Manager for Granite Transformations. Paula understands the needs of small businesses and the possible complications to an unresolved claim. Paula attended Chico State with a major in Marketing and is building designations related to insurance claims.
While not at work, Paula enjoys playing softball, walking and spending time with her son.
